
Jazz is a form of dance that combines many other styles. Dances can range anywhere from ballet to hip hop. It is an excellent way to exercise and get into shape without requiring as much discipline as ballet.
Shoes
Jazz shoes come in many different styles. Below are some of the variations in jazz shoes that are available. For our classes at Language of Dance we will be using the style of shoe on the left, although the more advanced student may find the split sole version (just to the right of the other picture) more comfortable.
Clothing
Pretty much anything comfortable will work. We ask that you dress modestly and that you wear either tights (under pants or shorts) or thin socks with your shoes. This cuts down on sore feet from chafing.
